Privacy Policy
This policy explains how FireAlert Limited handles personal data you provide through this website, the FireAlert mobile app, FieldConnect and our AI assistant (FazPal), and your rights under the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (Cap. 486) of Hong Kong.

1. Scope
This policy applies to firealert.com.hk and its sub-paths, the FireAlert mobile app, the FieldConnect platform and the AI assistant on this website. It does not cover data collected by an app store when you pay through it, nor third-party websites.
Where you use the service on behalf of a company or organisation, you may submit its data; you should ensure you are authorised to do so.
2. Data we collect
Depending on the features you use, we may collect:
- Contact data: name, company, phone, email and anything you write in an enquiry form or WhatsApp message.
- Account data: login name, role, and the site or department you belong to.
- Operational records: inspection forms, permits, sign-offs, snag photos, timestamps and GPS location (only where you grant location permission).
- Device and sensor data: device ID, model, firmware version, signal strength, readings and alarm events.
- Technical logs: IP address, browser and operating system, access time and error logs.
- AI conversation logs: your messages to the assistant, its replies, and anonymised statistics used to improve answers.
3. Purposes
We use personal data only to: respond to enquiries and arrange demos; provide, operate and maintain the services you subscribe to; handle alarms and incident notifications; manage billing and contracts; maintain security and prevent abuse; keep records required by law or regulators; and improve our products on an aggregated, de-identified basis.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for direct marketing unrelated to the above unless you have expressly consented (you may withdraw at any time).
4. Disclosure
We disclose data only:
- Within your organisation: members of the same account group can see the site records you submit, which is part of how the service works.
- Service providers: cloud hosting, SMS/WhatsApp notification, email delivery and technical support, all bound by confidentiality and purpose limits.
- Legal requirements: where required by court order, law enforcement or a regulator, or where necessary to protect personal safety.
- Business transfer: on a merger or transfer, data may pass to the successor entity under the same commitments.
5. AI assistant
The assistant is served by a language model running on our own infrastructure and retrieves answers only from this website's public content. Conversations are logged with a timestamp and an anonymous session identifier for quality review and deleted after 90 days. Please do not enter passwords, identity numbers, customer personal data or other sensitive information into the chat.
If a conversation needs a person, we ask for your contact details and use them only to follow up that enquiry.
6. Retention
- Enquiries: 24 months.
- AI conversations: 90 days.
- Accounts and operational records: for the life of the account, then as required by contract and law (normally not more than 7 years).
- Technical logs: 90 days.
7. Security
We protect data with TLS in transit, role-based access control, least-privilege accounts, audit logging and regular backups. No system is absolutely secure; if a breach occurs that may affect you, we will notify you and the Privacy Commissioner as required.
8. Your rights
You may request access to the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct inaccurate data, and opt out of direct marketing. Email cs@firealert.com.hk and we will respond within 40 days. A fee not exceeding the amount permitted by the Ordinance may apply to an access request.
If you believe we have handled your data improperly, you may complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data.
9. Cookies
This website uses only cookies needed for operation and security. We do not use advertising trackers; if analytics are added, consent will be obtained first and this policy updated.
10. Children
The service is intended for business and site users, is not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect children's personal data.
11. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time; the current version is published here with a revised "last updated" date. Material changes will be announced on the website.
